1. Which processor and operating system does the W10Y use?

The W10Y is powered by the Intel Core i7-10510Y: four cores, eight threads, 1.2GHz base and up to 4.5GHz turbo, in a 7W fanless envelope. Windows 11 is standard; Windows 10, Ubuntu (20.04/22.04) and Debian 12 are available for project orders. 2. Does the W10Y use a fanless cooling system?

Yes. The W10Y uses a fanless passive-cooling design to reduce noise and eliminate the need for an air intake. It is intended for compatible Windows industrial, field-service, database-client and business applications. Actual sustained performance depends on the software workload, memory configuration and operating temperature.

3. Is the W10Y waterproof, dustproof and drop-resistant?

The W10Y carries an IP68 rating and is drop-tested to 1.22 m under MIL-STD-810H procedures. Its stated standard operating-temperature range is -20°C to 60°C. Customers should request the applicable certification documents and detailed test conditions for the selected configuration.

4. Can the display be used outdoors and while wearing gloves?

Yes. The W10Y has a 10.1-inch 1920×1200 IPS touchscreen with 700-nit standard brightness. An optional 1000-nit sunlight-readable display is listed for outdoor projects. The capacitive touchscreen supports medical rubber-glove operation, and wet-hand touch can be customized.

5. How long does the W10Y battery last?

The standard W10Y is listed with a built-in 7.6V 5550mAh battery and at least five hours of 1080p video playback at 50% brightness. An optional 7.6V 10000mAh battery is available for projects requiring longer runtime. Actual battery life depends on screen brightness, Windows power settings, wireless connectivity and connected data-capture modules.

6. Does the W10Y support Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, mobile networks and GNSS?

Yes. The W10Y supports Wi-Fi 6E (2.4/5/6GHz), Bluetooth 5.3 and positioning through GPS, BeiDou, Galileo and GLONASS. Optional 4G LTE connectivity is available, but customers should confirm the required frequency bands and carrier compatibility for the destination country before ordering.

7. Which industrial interfaces are available?

The W10Y can provide USB Type-C, USB Type-A, DB9 RS232, Micro HDMI, Gigabit RJ45 Ethernet, a 3.5mm audio jack, Micro SIM, TF card expansion, a DC charging port and a 12-pin POGO connector.

8. Can barcode, NFC, RFID and fingerprint modules be integrated?

Yes. Optional modules include 1D/2D barcode scanning, NFC, LF RFID, UHF RFID, fingerprint recognition and ID card reading. RTK high-precision positioning is also listed as a project customization option. The compatible module combination should be confirmed before sample production.

9. Is an explosion-proof version of the W10Y available?

An explosion-proof variant is available on project order. Ex marking, certificate number, and permitted accessories are defined by the certificate — see the Explosion-Proof Tablets series or request the certified configuration before specifying Zone 1/21 use.

10. Can RUGGEDMASTER customize the W10Y for OEM and industrial projects?

Yes. RUGGEDMASTER can customize the operating system, RAM, M.2 SSD, display brightness, battery capacity, cellular connectivity, positioning system, barcode scanner, RFID reader, fingerprint module, industrial interfaces, housing color, logo and mounting accessories.
